A standout on the court, Tim earned All-Conference First Team honors in 2012, was selected to the Inner-City Conference All-Star Team, and named Runner-Up MVP for the Inner-City Conference that same year. He was recognized among the Top 5 Centers in the state and proudly joined the prestigious 1,000 Point Club for the Patriots.
To this day, Tim remains the only Division I athlete to emerge from the Patriots basketball program in Camden (2007–2025), a testament to his exceptional talent and determination.
Following high school, Tim went on to play professional basketball for four years in Europe and South America, earning invitations to the 2021 NBA Summer League and NBA G League tryouts. Minnesota Lynx and WNBA USA Basketball scout team player for 12 seasons.
Off the court, Tim serves his community with equal passion. He is a dedicated social worker and EMSS for MPS, holding a master’s degree in social work.
He is also the founder of the nonprofit organization “Teach Everyone A Method” (T.E.A.M.), a career-based empowerment program designed to uplift youth and strengthen the community.
A committed youth mentor and coach, Tim continues to guide and inspire the next generation through his work with AAU and high school basketball programs.

-Challenges students to develop their knowledge and work in teams to create
effective, competitive robots year after year
-Meets with student members two to three days a week after school and on weekends and travels with them to competitions
-Is respected, admired, and appreciated as a mentor by students
-Recruits alumni and other Herobotics volunteers and is the Team historian
-Over 300 students have graduated with greater problem-solving and engineering design skills while Jack Skogen was their robotics mentor.
Jack Skogen has volunteered for over 16 years as a machinist and designer to support
Camden High students to increase their knowledge on the award-winning robotics team, Herobotics. Jack patiently mentors students about tool usage, practical design, fabrication, photography and engineering skills that are so valuable in today’s world of work. He has played a significant part in the development of the Herobotics program at Camden High School (formerly Patrick Henry High). The group has won many awards locally, state-wide and nationally and has provided the impetus for the creation and guidance for robotics teams throughout the Twin Cities. Skogen states, “My hopes for the Herobotics students are that they will gain more skills and have more confidence in themselves and their abilities in their current lives and the future.”

2018 Bush Fellow – self designed leadership program to teach people how to make things happen
During his tenure as coach Larry led Minneapolis Patrick Henry to four consecutive state championships in 2000 to 2004. He also led the team to seven Minneapolis City Conference titles. 100 % of the student athletes he coached graduated, 90 % of them went on to higher education.
The team’s collective GPA was 3.5 with 98% of the athletes on the A/B honor roll. Five student athletes were members of the National Honor Society. Larry instilled academic achievement along with athletic achievement in those he coached at Patrick Henry.
